Manchester City and Arsenal support home learning with Mudita Sports

Mudita Sports has teamed up with global football clubs, Manchester City and Arsenal, to entice fans to learn a new language through the brand-new app, GO And Learn, which puts players at the heart of the learning experience.

The release of the officially licenced apps – GO And Learn with Manchester City and GO And Learn with Arsenal – is there to support young people who are currently being schooled from home, while also appealing to adult football fanatics in need of a new pastime or learning experience.

GO And Learn features men’s and women’s first team players and allows fans to learn both ABOUT and WITH their heroes, via interactive content and challenges. The apps are currently available to learn French and Spanish for English speakers of those modern foreign languages to improve and hone their skills. The app is also available in Arabic, French and Spanish for speakers to learn English.

The unique combination of sport and education offers a fun and entertaining experience, using the Accelerated Learning Cycle model, developed by Mudita Sports’ Director of Learning and renowned educationalist, Alistair Smith. Based on cognitive science, the model has been successfully used by the English FA and thousands of schools over the past 20 years.

“Science shows us how to improve the chances of recall through structured practice, spaced rehearsals and short tests,” says Smith. “GO And Learn is a winner because it starts from an understanding of the process of learning. It links learning, fun and football.”

Manchester City and Arsenal view the app as an exciting and innovative tool to engage their fans across the world.

“In March, we launched our new Cityzens At Home website – a dedicated free, online resource allowing fans to remain close to the Club while we are apart during the COVID-19 outbreak. The GO And Learn with Manchester City language app offers another exciting resource for us to connect with our global fanbase and we hope it provides a fun and educational way to accelerate learning in these challenging times,” said Nuria Tarre, Chief Marketing Officer for City Football Group.

Alan Sefton MBE, Head of Arsenal in the Community, added: “For over 35 years, Arsenal in the Community has been using the power of the Arsenal name to positively impact the lives of young people. It is brilliant that during this challenging time our global fanbase will also be able to feel the positive impact of combining a love of Arsenal with learning languages through GO And Learn with Arsenal.”

GO And Learn with Manchester City and GO And Learn with Arsenal apps are free to download on the App Store and will be released on Android soon, with additional languages added over the coming months. All users have access to an initial 30-day free trial of the Premium content.
