Manchester-based Video Production Company Named One of Business Insider’s Most Exciting Companies

Manchester-based video production company Eight Engines has recently been named one of Business Insider’s Most Exciting Companies in the North West – cementing the agency as a leading creative powerhouse.

Eight Engines began life as a TV drama production house creating content for the BBC before evolving in 2017 into a full-service video production agency.

Since then, the company has built a reputation for delivering cinematic-quality video campaigns for a wide range of clients, from household names and global brands, to major public sector organisations and local businesses.

“This recognition is a huge honour and a real boost for our entire team,” said Jack Leigh. “We’ve grown organically from a passion for storytelling into a company that’s trusted by some of the biggest brands in the world to bring their vision to life. We’ve always believed that great storytelling is about having the right idea and team to tell it – and our strength lies in making every budget, big or small, work harder to deliver exceptional results.”

Eight Engines’ recent work includes bold, innovative collaborations with organisations like Sony, Google, Transport for Greater Manchester, The BBC, Bam UK, Boys Brigade, Help for Heroes, IHG, Saint Gobain and many more, as well as creative campaigns for a variety of local agencies.

Known for their unique ability to create captivating, imaginative videos – Eight Engines have gained an incredible reputation both locally in the North West and internationally within the video production industry.

“What excites me most,” Leigh added, “is taking a tricky, niche topic and turning it into something your audience can’t scroll past. Even if the initial brief is something that could on the surface be a bit dry, we love breathing colour, clarity and adding a touch of mischief into our content. When marketing feels like binge-watching, everybody wins: your message sticks and viewers come back for more.”

Leigh has an extensive background in video production, having worked on projects such as Fast and Furious and Peaky Blinders. It is this experience that has led the team to where they are today as a creative unit – allowing them to stand out of the crowd with their unique storytelling skills and high-quality content.

However, Leigh credits the whole team for the agency’s recent successes.

“Honestly, I get to work with the best group of people I could ask for,” Leigh said. “We’re a close-knit team, and every project is a shared creative journey. That passion and drive is reflective in every single member of our team – and that is what has driven us to this point in our business.”

Having overcome the challenges of Covid and the cost of living crisis, as well as learning to navigate the impact of AI on the creative industry, this achievement is a testament to the incredible hard work the entire team has put into their content.

As the agency continues to grow, they are determined to continue leading the way in video production and creative storytelling – both in the North West and beyond.
