Manchester Art Fair Returns to the City this November 15-17

One of the UK’s largest and most significant art fairs, Manchester Art Fair, returns to Manchester Central this November 15-17, transforming the iconic exhibition space into a stunning art gallery, where the work of over 500 of the world’s greatest and up-and-coming artists will be shown. Featured names include Tracey Emin, Pablo Picasso, LS Lowry, and Henri Matisse.
This year’s event will see a series of engaging art talks and immersive experiences with a focus on promoting inclusivity in the arts. Among the standout interview filming and interview opportunities to be enjoyed are interviews with world-renowned music photographer Scarlet Page who will, in a northern exclusive, speak on her thirty-year retrospective, photographing some of the greatest music acts of recent times including Oasis, The Verve, Robbie Williams, Lady Gaga, The Rolling Stones, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Stereophonics and the Foo Fighters. She will also unveil never-before-seen works of Courtney Love, Lady Gaga, and Public Enemy, alongside original works produced in collaboration with cutting-edge international contemporary artists, including an exclusive limited-edition print by David Bowie’s album cover artist Terry Pastor.
She will be followed by international figurative artist Mark Demsteader who will unveil his inaugural book, ‘Moorland’ and provide a rare insight into his journey from family butcher to best-selling artist. Greater Manchester artist Liam Hopkins invites media to join him on his custom-made seesaw and to ‘Press and Play’ in order to create unique works of art. The installation aims to challenge the conventional boundaries of what it means to be an artist, inviting collaboration.
Executive Chairman of Manchester Art Fair and Co-Founder of The Manchester Contemporary Art Fund, Thom Hetherington, will be available throughout the weekend to speak on the sixteenth edition of the event and how it has contributed to the changing face of art and culture in the North. He will also be available to speak on The Manchester Contemporary Art Fund, the biggest philanthropic art fund in the North, and which this year has seen a record £34,000 raised to invest in art for Manchester Art Gallery’s public exhibition.
