Love Island: ‘Farmer Will’ is this year’s most talked about contestant

From start to finish, Love Island always trends on Twitter. But which of the 2023 winter Love Island cast has caused the biggest social media stir so far?

The team at Jeffbet.com crunched the numbers to reveal which Love Island 2023 contestant has been talked about on Twitter the most since the new season began on 16th January.

Will Young, aka ‘Farmer Will’ is the most talked about Love Island 2023 contestant so far with over 47,000 Twitter mentions in the last seven days. He is currently coupled up with Lana but has yet to find a romantic spark in the villa. New Australian bombshell Jessie Wynter appears to have her eyes set on the 23-year-old social media star from Buckinghamshire. Will was doing impressive TikTok numbers before entering the villa, now at 1.3m followers and climbing.

Tanya Mahenga is the second most talked-about contestant this year, with over 26,000 mentions so far. Tanyel Revan has had the fourth-highest number of Twitter mentions so far, currently at just over 21,000. Olivia Hawkins, a 27-year-old ring girl and actress from Brighton, has caused the fifth-biggest stir on social media with just over 20,000 mentions. Olivia made it clear she didn’t come to play from day one when she immediately stole Kai from Anna-May but was quickly retaken by Tanyel. Olivia’s recent beef with Zara has been doing the rounds on social media. Since entering the villa, eagle-eyed fans have spotted Olivia acting in Eastenders and James Bond’s No Time to Die. She has also been a body double for Emma Watson and Michelle Keegan.

Ron Hall, a 25-year-old financial advisor from Essex, is the sixth most talked about Love Island contestant, with over 18,000 mentions. Ron has been causing a stir online for being in the middle of a love triangle with “besties” Lana and Tanyel. He is the first partially sighted contestant to enter the villa.

Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown entered the villa as a bombshell alongside David Salako and is currently the seventh most-talked-about contestant this year with over 16,000 mentions, overtaking some of the original cast. The 25-year-old model and property developer from London. She pulled Ron for a date before entering the villa, with Ron admitting his head had ‘completely turned’, but is currently coupled up with footballer and fellow bombshell Tom.

Kai Fagan is a science and PE teacher and semi-professional rugby player from Manchester and has racked up the ninth-highest number of mentions, with over 12,000. Kai became the most in-demand contestant after coupling up with three girls on the first day. His brother Dean was in Coronation Street for four years as mechanic Luke Britton, but Kai has already surpassed his brother’s 11,000 Instagram followers, now at almost 20,000.

Haris Namani, a 21-year-old TV salesman and boxer from Doncaster, has racked up over 9,000 Twitter mentions, making him the tenth most talked about. Haris has been at the centre of controversy after model and influencer Courtney Hodgson claimed they were in a couple and accused Haris of dumping her to go on the show.

Tom Clare, a 23-year-old semi-professional footballer from Barnsley, is one of the least talked about contestants this year, with just over 7,000 mentions. After being voted in by fans, he was the first bombshell of this season. Tom is currently a striker for Macclesfield FC and is reportedly mates with Robbie Savage.

Anna-May Robey, 20, a payroll administrator from Swansea, has the least amount of Twitter at just over 7,000. Anna-May is the youngest original contestant this year and is currently coupled up with Kai. She had just over 3,000 Instagram followers before entering the villa, but since her Love Island debut, her follower count has blown up by over 1,000% and is now at over 43,000 followers.
