Leading law firm appoints new CEO following record 40% revenue increase

Fletchers Solicitors, one of Manchester’s leading serious injury and medical negligence law firms, has appointed a new Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment comes following the recent acquisition of the business by private investment advisory firm, Sun European Partners, LLP.

Peter Haden was appointed to the post last month and brings with him a wealth of experience in mergers and acquisitions. He will now lead the company through a period of substantial growth.

Plans for growth in specialist areas

The firm, which has recently been named in the Times Top 200 law firms in the UK, was privately owned by Rob and Ed Fletcher until October 2021, when it was acquired by the American-based private equity company.

Together alongside Peter’s leadership, Sun European Partners plan to grow the business, both through extending their strong position in Personal Injury and Medical Negligence work, and extending their services into new areas of law.

Peter is an experienced Board Executive with more than 25 years’ experience of leading and driving change in consumer and professional services industries. His most recent role was at Oxfam as Interim Chief Supporter Officer – a position he took on during the pandemic to help them during challenging financial conditions. Prior to that, Peter was UK CEO and Executive Director of the Greencore Group; and was also a Partner at management consulting firm McKinsey, based in London and Delhi.

Beginning a new partnership with real momentum

Peter said: “I am delighted to be joining Fletchers and look forward to an exciting future as we invest in growth under our new ownership. I’ve been struck in my first weeks with the firm by both the momentum of the business and the warmth and kindness of the team. I’ve also been inspired by the quality of our work and the difference we are making each day for our clients. Fletchers is truly an exceptional Firm and it’s a privilege to be part of the team.”

This announcement comes off the back of a record year for Fletchers, with revenue increasing by 40% and profit before tax increasing 39%.

Fletchers has more than 500 team members with offices in Manchester and Southport. It is one of the UK’s leading medical negligence and personal injury firms, specialising in catastrophic brain injury, amputation and spinal cases.
