Only 4% of Dutch cyclists wear a helmet, a concerning statistic, especially considering that 12,500 cyclists are hospitalized each year with severe head injuries. The Dutch start-up headfirst is aiming to change this with the Echo Pro, a new generation of bicycle helmets that not only protect but are also stylish, comfortable, and sustainable.

Developed in collaboration with the award-winning APE Design Studio, the Echo Pro combines modern design with innovative safety features. The patented SafeFit system provides a personalized fit without any adjustment dials, ensuring a secure and comfortable helmet for all head sizes. Initial tests have shown that the helmet is twice as effective as conventional models at protecting the back of the head during impacts. In addition, the helmet is made with sustainable, multi-impact EPP materials and partially uses recycled components, making it both environmentally friendly and durable.

Starting May 15, 2025, the Echo Pro will be available for pre-order through the Kickstarter campaign at a special price. From fall 2025, it will be available for €149 on www.headfirsthelmets.com.
