Introducing Arlo’s Place – New Toys Embracing Inclusive, Imaginative, Screen-Free Play
As concerns grow about the impact of screen time on children’s development, Arlo’s Place is offering an inspired alternative: a carefully curated collection of screen-free, inclusive toys designed to spark real-world connection and creativity.
Research shows that too much screen time can affect children’s sleep, language development, attention span, and emotional well-being. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, children aged 2–5 should be limited to one hour of screen time per day—yet many are spending over 2.5 hours daily. In contrast, imaginative play with physical toys has been shown to improve social skills, problem-solving, and emotional regulation.
Arlo’s Place is a growing online children’s store with a simple mission: to help families move away from screens and back into meaningful, imaginative play—while making sure every child feels represented and included:
The carefully chosen range includes:
Dolls representing a wide range of races, cultures, and abilities
Sensory-friendly toys designed for neurodivergent children
Open-ended play options that encourage storytelling, movement, and creativity
