Hotel Indigo Stratford upon Avon has been shortlisted twice as a finalist in the prestigious 2027 West Midlands Tourism Awards (WMTA). The Falcon Coffee Lounge has been shortlisted in the Café/Coffee shop category, and The Woodsman has been shortlisted in the Restaurant Category.
Now in their 7th year, the WMTAs celebrate the region’s best accommodation, business, cultural and sporting event venues, food and drink settings, and visitor and heritage attractions. 35 venues, attractions and experiences from across the region will be hoping to be crowned best in their category. The winners in all 17 categories will be revealed at an awards ceremony early in the New Year, with 250 guests expected to attend. Gold and silver winners in each category are automatically put forward for Visit England’s National Awards for Excellence, giving West Midlands businesses the chance to earn recognition at a national level.
In addition, the Hotel has been shortlisted twice in the Stratford Herald Business & Tourism Awards in the Best Place to Work and Best Customer experience categories. The results will be revealed at a gala dinner at the Crowne Plaza in Stratford-upon-Avon on Friday 16 October. This event brings decision-makers and business leaders from across the area together to celebrate business excellence.
Hotel Indigo Stratford upon Avon, formerly The Falcon Hotel, opened its doors in April 2019 after a multi-million-pound major restoration project. The Grade 2 listed historic building, which dates back to the 16th century, was painstakingly restored over a 22-month period.
Samantha Dunion, General Manager of Hotel Indigo Stratford-upon-Avon said: “We are delighted to be nominated twice as a finalist in the West Midlands Tourism Awards, and twice in the Stratford Herald Business & Tourism Awards. Winning these awards would be a fantastic acknowledgment of how hard my team works, delivering a first-class visitor experience. We look forward to hearing the results in October and the New Year”.
Andrew Lovett, Chairman of the West Midlands tourism and hospitality advisory board, said:
“To be recognised among the very best tourism and hospitality businesses in the region is a significant achievement and a testament to the passion, innovation and commitment shown by teams across the West Midlands every day. From world-class attractions and venues to
outstanding accommodation, restaurants and visitor experiences, and independent family-run businesses, our finalists showcase the breadth and quality of the region’s tourism offer. They play a vital role in attracting visitors, supporting local economies, and helping to tell the story of our places to audiences across the UK and beyond.”
Neil Rami, CEO of the West Midlands Growth Company, added: “The success of West Midlands businesses at this year’s Visit England Awards for Excellence demonstrates the national calibre of our visitor economy, and I have no doubt that many of this year’s finalists will go on to achieve further recognition. I wish all finalists the very best of luck and look forward to celebrating their achievements when the winners are announced at the awards ceremony.”
