Leeds-based collective HONESTY have shared a new track entitled “NIGHTWORLD,” accompanied by a music video directed by *UNCANNY.

The new single arrives ahead of a stretch of UK dates, including a Mood Swings showcase at YES, Manchester.

Inspired by classic UK garage tracks and propelled by the haunting yet urgent delivery of vocalist George Mitchell (formerly of Leeds post-punk band Eagulls), “NIGHTWORLD” typifies HONESTY’s effort to harness the vitality of new beginnings.

About the track, HONESTY say:

“This song is about how anyone can be affected by vices no matter their background. We’re all begging for the changes we need, but all we are offered, and the only route out is money”

“NIGHTWORLD” follows the group’s double A-side singles “U&I” and “TUNE IN TUNE OUT,” as well as a remix by Hagop Tchaparian of another new track, “MR. SPEAKER”.

The music of HONESTY emerged unexpectedly, instinctually, almost unconsciously out of weekly gatherings at a studio space called Nave, in the collective’s native Leeds. It’s in this creative cauldron where the core members: George Mitchell, Matt Peel, Josh Lewis and Imi Holmes worked with a revolving cast of collaborators to survey the unconventional depths of contemporary electronic music, UK bass, garage, shoegaze, ambient and everything in between. This egoless approach results in songs that mirror the communal bond of passing the aux cord at a party, or diving into a well curated, diverse playlist.

HONESTY have also confirmed some of their first-ever public live performances, which will take place in the UK this fall. They were also recently included in the first round of artists confirmed for SXSW 2024. Dates below, stay tuned for more music and shows coming soon.
