With fans failing to miss Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby during their extended break from This Morning, bookies have now priced the duo as odds-on to leave the ITV show.

Irish bookmaker Paddy Power have now priced the chances of Phil and Holly leaving at 5/6, with their temporary stand-ins Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond favourites to takeover on a permanent basis.

Such has been the popularity of Dermot and Alison, that they’re individually touted as short as 10/11 and 11/8 to present permanently, with their chances of co-hosting together 4/1.

Others in line to break down in hysterics at Gino D’Acampo’s mispronunciations include Gabby Logan (6/1), and Amanda Holden and Ben Shephard (both 8/1).

Bradley Walsh is 18/1 to ‘chase’ down the new presenting gig, while Ant and Dec are 25/1 to trade the rough and tumble of the jungle for a comfortable position on the ITV sofa.

For punters fancying longer odds, Jeremy Clarkson is mooted at 50/1 to stop doing ‘diddly squat’ on his farm and make a sensational return to London.

Spokesperson Paddy Power said: “Phillip Scofield and Holly Willoughby have been an integral part of the British public’s morning routines for years, so it’s difficult to imagine the show without them. Who else could possibly pull off the hungover post-awards do show as well as they do?

“ITV bosses will have a tough job trying to find their replacements, but a job description of a loveable duo who randomly burst into fits of laughter on-screen shouldn’t be too hard to match.”
