HALF MOON RUN — Plot Manchester Headline Show || 16 September @ Albert Hall
Acclaimed Canadian trio – HALF MOON RUN – will be heading to Manchester’s Albert Hall on 16 September, as part of a UK headline tour.
The band recently made a return with “You Can Let Go”, a propulsive and affirming sonic journey that arrived their first bit of music since 2023. A track that recalls the inducing cardiac panic of the group’s earlier hits, and its chorus transcends into the sublime harmonies the three-piece have become renowned for.
With transformation and self-reflection evidently on their minds, there’s been a global pandemic and a sea-change in the live music industry since the band’s last album ‘A Blemish in the Green Light’ (2019). Fourth member and multi-instrumentalist Isaac Symonds also departed the band to move out West leaving the remaining trio — Devon Portielje, Conner Molander and Dylan Phillips — as the band’s foundation moving forward.
One of Canada’s most successful bands, Half Moon Run netted two Juno Awards in 2020 and 2022 respectively and were nominated for ‘Group Of The Year’ in 2021. But, the past few years have largely kept the band from doing what they undisputedly excel at: touring. Synonymous with the band’s fame, name and global accolades, Half Moon Run have single-handedly built dedicated worldwide audiences since they began internationally touring with their first album ‘Dark Eyes’ in 2012.
In the latter half of 2022, Half Moon Run played a select few live dates which were, unsurprisingly, some of their most successful shows yet. There were over 45,000 people on the Plains of Abraham for the first night of the Festival d’été de Québec and the band were also awarded their fifth Félix Award for Best Anglophone Show of 2022.
Now, the band are returning to UK shores for a set of headline shows across September. With tickets available now, catch them in Manchester this September.
