Officers investigating a fire in Leigh have made a further arrest.

On Thursday 25 October, a 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder. He remains in custody for questioning.

One count relates to a fire at a house on Montreal Street in Leigh on Tuesday 16 October. The other count relates to a fire at a house on Mardale Road in Huyton, Merseyside on Sunday 14 October.

Officers are now treating these incidents as linked.
