CREATURES OF THE NIGHT COMEDY ANNOUNCES: CREATURES COMEDY FESTIVAL

In less than two weeks, Creatures Comedy Club will launch its inaugural comedy festival after under two years running. With a jam-packed lineup of household names and local rising stars, Creatures Comedy Festival will kick off the summer in Manchester’s Northern Quarter from 19th to 28th of July.

On the 19th of July at 8.30pm club owner, Evan Desmarais will host a launch show with four surprise acts to get the highly anticipated festival started. There’ll be popcorn, drinks and non stop laughs to celebrate the event. The 10 day festival will showcase new shows from Chloe Petts (Radio 5 Live, Leicester Square New Comedian of the Year finalist), Susie McCabe (Best Scottish Headliner and Best Solo Show in the 2019 Scottish Comedy Awards), Jordan Brookes (Channel 4, ITV, Sky and BBC3) and Josh Glanc (ABC, ITV and BBC3). Creatures Comedy Festival will provide Manchester residents exclusive access to some of the best Edinburgh Fringe shows all under one roof in the hustling streets of the Northern Quarter.

With more than 35 solo shows, tickets are selling fast with Sashi Perera (Best Newcomer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival 2023 nominee)’s first show sold out and her second one half sold too, Brennan Reece (Live at the Apollo and Roast Battle) and Huge Davies (Channel 4’s The Artists and 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown) tickets are also running low. Each day of the festival, the club will also host a mixed-bill show in Wilson’s Den right next door. With a range of surprise acts, you never know who will be stopping by during this busy time.

Along with well-known names such as Larry Dean (Live at the Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Big Show), Elf Lyons (ITV2’s The Stand Up Sketch Show), Dan Tiernan (BBC New Comedian of the Year) and Fatiha El-Ghorri (The Jonathan Ross Show, The Russell Howard Hour and Comedy Central At The Edinburgh Fringe), the producers are thrilled to feature a Northern Takeover Day on the final Sunday of the festival to celebrate local talent including Molly McGuiness, Harriet Dyer (Rosie Jones’ Disability Comedy Extravaganza, Comedy Central Live, The Russell Howard Hour) and Raul Kohli (BBC Radio).

Creatures Comedy Festival is partnering up with local organisations Skiddle, Manchester Gin, Roomzzz, North Manchester FM and British Comedy Guide to present its first ever festival. As the only 7 night a week comedy club in the city, the club hopes to continue expanding and provide a platform for homegrown talent whilst also raising the profile of Manchester’s comedy scene.
