COMBICHRIST – Industrial legends announce MCR show || Tickets on Sale Friday

Norwegian industrial-metal act COMBICHRIST is heading to Manchester this Autumn.

Landing at Manchester’s Club Academy on 4 October, Combichrist will be joined by special guests Megaherz.

The leading act of the industrial-core movement, Combichrist consists only of vocalist Andy LaPlegua in the studio, often augmented by a revolving cast of musicians to put together infamously intense live shows.

Initially cutting his teeth in the seminal Norwegian hardcore bands My Right Choice and Lash Out, LaPlegua segued out of that scene and into the electronic music world with Icon of Coil. In 2003 he founded Combichrist — the project that would soon dominate his time —by merging his hardcore past and electronica present to make a singular, mechanical music monster.

Since releasing their first album ‘The Joy of Gunz’ in 2003, LaPlegua and Combichrist have toured the world several times, supporting friends Rammstein in 2009 across Europe and at their sold-out Madison Square Garden show in 2010.

In 2019 Combichrist released their latest record and ninth studio album ‘One Fire’, a retrospective of sorts that saw LaPlegua drawing on ideas from across the breadth of the group’s career. Last year, the group also completed their ‘Europe Not My Enemy Tour’, which included shows across twelve different countries.

Now set to return to the UK once again, Combichrist will be bringing an unmissable live show to Manchester this October. The show will also see Combichrist joined by very special guests: Megaherz.

German band MEGAHERZ have lit their fractious fire over and over in the last 25 years. With their latest release “Komet” these five friends dig deeper into their inner world – more emotional than ever before. Massive Neue Deutsche Härte-riffs and colorful synth-melodies tumble into a vortex of pain and loss and the intangibility of society’s ignorance. Less fantasy, more questioning: “Who makes the difference?” [“Wer macht den Unterschied?”], they ask in “Heldengrab” as they hunt for responsibility in times that are often grey. For the first time MEGAHERZ showcase political songs like “Horrorclown” or “Nicht in meinem Namen”. Between all these black stars we need courage; To find peace… even if there is no time to mourn the past. “Von oben” manages this with poignant lines – a song for the late father of guitarist Christian “X-ti” Bystron. “Komet” deals with honesty.
