Cheshire Store Wins National Award at Furniture Industry ‘Oscars’

Macclesfield-based furniture retailer Arighi Bianchi has been recognised on the national stage, winning Best Marketing Campaign at the Excellence in Furniture Awards – described as the “Oscars of the furniture world”.

The awards ceremony took place on Monday 19 January at the NEC Birmingham, alongside the January Furniture Show, and brought together more than 350 leading brands, retailers, manufacturers, and suppliers from across the UK to celebrate innovation, creativity, and outstanding talent across the furniture sector.

Arighi Bianchi claimed the Best Marketing Campaign award for its destination-led “Postcards From” series, as well as being highly commended in the Best Independent Retailer of the Year category — placing the Cheshire business firmly among the UK’s most forward-thinking furniture retailers.

The Best Marketing Campaign award recognises campaigns that achieve exceptional results through creativity, strategic thinking, and a strong understanding of the furniture marketplace. Judges praised “Postcards From” for its originality, emotional storytelling, and commercial impact.

Launched by the fifth-generation, family-run business, “Postcards From” is a multi-channel campaign series that draws on Arighi Bianchi’s 170-year heritage. Inspired by the journey of founders Antonio Arighi and Antonio Bianchi from Lake Como to Macclesfield, the campaign celebrates the beauty of travel, global design, craftsmanship, and a spirit of adventure.

Each chapter of the campaign has explored a new design story, translating the culture, essence, and aesthetic identity of each place into curated furniture and home accessory collections, immersive in-store experiences, events, competitions, and digital storytelling. Iterations so far have included Japan, Sicily, Los Angeles, the Alps, South Africa and Norway, with a new destination arriving very soon for Spring 2026.

Since its launch, “Postcards From” has delivered significant results with store footfall up 24.5%, accessories sales up 122%, and social media driven sales up by a huge 2,100%. The campaign has attracted extensive regional and national press coverage, including a high-profile interview with CEO Sarah Bianchi in The Times.

Arighi Bianchi was also highly commended in the Best Independent Retailer of the Year category – for its destination store, outstanding customer experience, community engagement, and continued innovation and resilience in a challenging retail landscape.

Often described as a local landmark, Arighi Bianchi’s Grade II-listed glass-fronted store combines furniture, interiors, accessories, and its popular Caffè AB, attracting visitors from across Cheshire, the North West, and further afield.

The Excellence in Furniture Awards were launched by The Furniture Shows, in partnership with Furniture News, to celebrate excellence, creativity and leadership across the industry.
