Celebrating the Ultimate in Inspiration and Aspiration In the British Pool and Hot Tub Industry
Never before has the desire for pool and hot tub ownership been in such huge demand worldwide as it has been in the last two years. No longer possessions of the rich and famous, water leisure products have become, for many homeowners, a serious consideration to enhance their home, lifestyle, health and wellbeing (as well as helping to bring family and friends together in homes and gardens across the country); with an aspiration to enjoy every day as a holiday, an #everydaycation!
Leading the way for the water leisure industry, the UK trade associations, SPATA (Swimming Pool and Allied Trades Association) and BISHTA (British and Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association) annually invite their members to enter the British Pool & Hot Tub Awards. The combined swimming pool, spa, hot tub and wellness industry awards attract entries from companies across Britain (and some from overseas), celebrating the best of construction, design, installation, retail, hire, service and innovation. The awards ceremony is held annually at the British Water Leisure Industry Gala Evening at the Coventry Building Society Arena in Coventry during SPATEX, the UK’s only dedicated international pool, spa and wellness show. This year it took place on Tuesday 1st February 2022.
With 32 categories to be contested (see a complete list of winners: BISHTA / SPATA), this year’s winning and highly commended entries demonstrate the breadth of talent and commitment to quality and service in the industry, even when in the constraints of a pandemic.
The top SPATA awards on the night were announced as the following companies; Centurion Leisure won the Dick Millward Trophy for Pool Contractor of the Year, XL Pools won the Outstanding Residential Pool of the Year Award, A19 Pools and Spas won the Commercial Pool of the Year Award, and All Swim won the Peter Geekie Award for Retail Excellence.
Winning the top BISHTA awards, Hot Tub Suppliers won the Gold Award in the Hot Tubs Change Lives category, Concept Spa won the Gold Award in the Hot Tub Happiness #everydaycation category, and Luxury Spas Direct won the Gold Award in the Showroom of the Year category.
Judged by a group of industry experts, these awards not only reward companies for their superior work, celebrating both the technical and aesthetic aspects, but they also create an inspirational gallery of award-winning projects for consumers to view, in the knowledge that as trade association members, every company is expected to work to British and European standards.
All trade association members are also expected to abide by the BISHTA and/or SPATA Code of Ethics. Quality and service are the key attributes, providing consumers with a safe route to purchase from trade association companies.
Chris Hayes (Managing Director of BISHTA and SPATA) commented: “BISHTA and SPATA come together annually to celebrate and promote the fantastic work of the UK Water Leisure Industry and the companies that strive to be at the top of their game. The past few years have been challenging for many industries, including our own, so to see the calibre of this year’s British Pool & Hot Tub Award winners is a testament to the expertise, talent and hard work these companies have demonstrated”.
