Fresh from their huge shows with Oasis last year, CAST will be bringing an epic headline performance to this Summer’s Blackpool Live season.
Presented by Scruff of the Neck, this brand new live music series will be bringing some of the nation’s best loved alternative acts to Blackpool’s iconic Winter Gardens.
Fronted by songwriter John Power and formed in Liverpool in 1992 from the ashes of two of the most celebrated guitar bands of their generation, The La’s and Shack, CAST became one of the defining acts of the Britpop era. From the immediate success of debut album ‘All Change’ through to the platinum-selling ‘Mother Nature Calls’, their first four studio albums established them as one of Britain’s most respected guitar bands. After a brief hiatus, since 2010 Cast have cemented their enduring appeal with new releases including the Youth-produced 2026 UK Top 10 album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’, rapturously received 30th anniversary shows celebrating ‘All Change’, and their integral support sets on the era-defining Oasis Live ‘25 shows last year. Flavoured with Power’s distinctive songwriting, lose yourself in a set of uplifting melodies and timeless anthems when CAST make their way to Blackpool Live this Summer.
On that evening, Cast will be joined by fellow stars of the Britpop era: SLEEPER. Enjoying huge critical and commercial success in the mid 90s with their No.5 charting debut album ‘Smart’, the band went on to achieve 8 Top 40 singles across 3 Top 10 albums with well over 1,000,000 sales. Along with sold-out headline shows of their own across the globe, the band also supported for major shows of the era for acts including Blur, REM, and Elvis Costello. Since their reformation in 2017, Sleeper have proven their pulling-power is as strong as ever with the release of 2018’s Stephen Street-produced top 20 album ‘The Modern Age’. Claiming significant sold-out shows at venues like Shepherd’s Bush Empire, the Roundhouse and summer festival sets at the likes of Latitude and Tramlines, the band embarked on their ‘Inbetweener’ UK greatest hits tour last year to great acclaim. Expect Sleeper to be firing on all cylinders when they land at the Winter Gardens this September.
Earlier in the day, don’t miss a vital opportunity to catch Britpop icons Echobelly and Pastel, kicking off this day of music in fitting style.
