BY THE ORDER OF THE PADDY BLINDERS: TOMMY SHELBY TIPPED TO DIE IN FINAL SEASON
Ahead of Peaky Blinders season six beginning this Sunday, bookmaker
Paddy Power
has tipped lead character Tommy Shelby to meet his end in the final few episodes.
Cillian Murphy’s character is priced as low as 5/2 to be killed off in the forthcoming series.
And fans of Murphy shouldn’t get their hopes up that he’ll swap razor blade flat cap for a tux and martini – the Irishman is priced at lengthy
25/1 to become the next James Bond.
Far more likely to take on the role of 007 is co-star Tom Hardy, who’s rated shorter at
5/1, with Bridgerton star Rege Jean Page the current favourite at 5/4.
After the show comes to an end, those seeking a
Peaky Blinders fix – with or without Tommy Shelby – will have to wait for the
BBC to commission a spin-off show by 2025 (7/2), with the chances of the show graduating to the silver screen a longer
10/1.
Punters are also able to have a flutter on both Murphy and Hardy landing spots on reality shows this year, with Hardy to appear in the jungle on
I’m A Celebrity at 66/1, and Murphy to put on sequins in Strictly Come Dancing at
25/1.
With a high viewership expected for Sunday’s season six opener,
Peaky Blinders is odds-on to rake in the accolades come award season – priced at
4/6 to win a BAFTA this year, and 6/4 to be the most watched BBC programme in 2022.
Spokesman Paddy
Power said: “Life without the Shelbys on our TV screens won’t be the same. So, once the series is over, I think I’ll head out to get a dodgy haircut and demand an important family
meeting.
“And I’m sure I won’t be alone. With major horseracing meets fast approaching, we expect to see every Tom, Dick and Harry attending in their best matching flat caps and tweed in tribute soon.”
