BRANSTON WANT YOU TO DITCH PLASTIC FOR PICKLE THIS CHRISTMAS WITH THE WORLD’S FIRST EDIBLE CHRISTMAS CRACKER

This Christmas, Branston Pickle is trialling the world’s first-ever edible Christmas cracker. With a crisp casing made of actual cracker, a lucky few pickle fans will be able to break it open for the ultimate cheese and pickle bite including classic Branston Pickle and Cathedral City Cheddar. Offering a convenient way for consumers to get their cheeseboard fix this Christmas, the crackers are perfect for post-dinner indulgence.

Because no Christmas cracker is complete without a crowd-pleasing joke to go inside, Branston is asking pickle lovers across the country to submit their ‘cheesiest’ jokes for the chance to get their hands on one of the original batch in the lead up to the festive season.

Branston has been working behind the scenes for months on perfecting the ultimate edible cracker recipe just in time for Christmas, teaming up with Cathedral City to create the best cheese and pickle pairing. Complete with edible ‘Branston green’ ribbons, the Christmas Cracker is a pickle-licious treat for any Branston fans wanting to add some excitement to their festive family get-togethers.

As if having a fully edible Christmas cracker as the centrepiece to your table wasn’t enough, Branston’s Christmas Cracker is a more sustainable choice over the traditional toy-filled crackers. Classic crackers are packed with single-use plastic toys, microplastic glitter and excessive packaging, whilst the Branston edible cracker creates zero food waste and has been carefully encased in more sustainable packaging that looks to reduce plastic waste.

Angharad Wilson Dyer Gough, Senior Brand Manager at Branston commented: “Our very special Christmas Cracker is something we’ve been working on behind the scenes for a while now, so we can’t wait to show our pickle fans what we’ve created as the ultimate festive cheese and pickle treat! It wouldn’t be Christmas without that tangy hit of Branston, so we’ve teamed up with our friends at Cathedral City to give cheese and pickle lovers everywhere a festive treat that not only tastes great but does good for the environment too when compared to traditional Christmas cracker options.”

Customers wanting to get their own limited-edition edible Christmas cracker are asked to submit their best Christmas cracker jokes to [email protected] and the pickle lovers with the best (worst) pun-tastic Christmas jokes will receive a Branston edible cracker in time for celebrating the festive season.
