BIBI LUCILE RELEASES NEW SINGLE “42” – A BLUES -POP ODE TO CHAOS, COMFORT, AND THE MEANING OF LIFE

London-based artist Bibi Lucille is back with her latest single “42” – a bluesy, soul-searching pop track inspired by The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

Written by Bibi and produced by Andrew O’Halloran, the song is set to release on July 1st and will be available on all major streaming platforms. “42” is a nod to the weird comfort that can come from complete existential collapse.

With lyrical nods to bulldozers, heart-of-gold starships, and the elusive answer to life, the universe and everything, Lucille transforms Douglas Adams’ dry humour into a heartfelt meditation on modern disillusionment. It’s about losing everything and still carrying on, armed with a towel and a tune.

“I wrote ‘42’ at a time when I felt like everything was falling apart,” Bibi says. “I kept thinking about the fact that in Hitchhiker’s, the answer to life, the universe and everything is just… 42. And I found that kind of hilarious and strangely comforting. That sometimes there’s no neat answer, and finding the right question is what we should really be looking for.” This song serves as an homage to the novel, as well as a love letter to anyone who’s ever felt completely unmoored – but still turned the volume up and kept going.

“42” is out now on Spotify, Apple Music, and wherever you get your cosmic guidance.

FFO: Amy Winehouse, Florence + the Machine, Regina Spektor, with a twist of Douglas Adams.
