AWRC wins Blossom Award at the GG2 Leadership & Diversity Awards 2025
AWRC (Asian Women’s Resource Centre) has been honoured with the prestigious Blossom Award at the 26th annual Asian Media Group (GG2) Leadership and Diversity Awards 2025. The Award recognized AWRC as “an individual, group or organisation for exceptional efforts in promoting community well-being and fostering a sense of unity”. Presented by the Royal Horticultural Society, it acknowledges the Harlesden-based charity’s new Healing Garden as a sanctuary for survivors of domestic abuse and harmful practice.
The prestigious event was attended by around 500 people from a variety of sectors and highlighted AWRC’s ongoing commitment to empowering BME women and promoting diversity within the community. AWRC Assistant Director, Punam Kharbanda, attended the ceremony and proudly received the Blossom Award on behalf of the charity.
As Punam explains, “The GG2 Awards are renowned as the UK’s premier event for acknowledging the contributions of ethnic minority communities and celebrating their successes. AWRC has been at the forefront of leading the fight to end violence against women and girls for 45 years, and we are proud to receive this award in recognition of services we provide to survivors. We look forward to working in partnership with AMG and other influential people to effect meaningful change on this issue”.
