Macclesfield’s Christmas season got off to a fantastic festive start as hundreds of people gathered for an inaugural Christmas event held at Arighi Bianchi.

The iconic store opened its famous doors for a late-night shopping extravaganza, with live demonstrations, local makers and exclusive product launches – including the debut of its new Swarovski range and Arighi’s first-ever own-brand candle and diffusercollection.

Guests enjoyed twinkling lights, mulled wine and freshly baked mince pies from the Kitchenality team, alongside drinks from Caffè AB. Special guest Suzan Holder — author, TV presenter and proud Cheshire local — drew a crowd with stories from her latest novel What Would Dolly Do? as well as tales from her career and life with her husband, music legend Noddy Holder.

A performance from local choir Chordiality filled the air with Christmas songs and Viva la Vida Events kept glasses filled with fizz, festive cocktails and mocktails.

Fourteen Cheshire-based brands joined the line-up with pop-up stalls, adding to the store’s displays of festive homewares, Christmas decorations and gorgeous gift ideas.

From the sparkle of Swarovski to the unmistakeably Christmassy scent of fresh wreaths and the warmth of good company, the night was filled with laughter, luxury, and festive joy. There was even a unique 12 Days of Christmas sing off. Guests left with goody bags, hearts full of festive cheer, and plenty of inspiration for the season ahead.

Arighi Bianchi continues its festive programme with a Family Fun Day on Saturday 13 December, 10am–3pm, featuring Santa, real reindeer, crafts, a Christmas trail and entertainment.
