Airds announces new lunch menu and new outdoor spaces
Get out and away this May. Airds Hotel & Restaurant in pretty Port Appin on the West Coast of Scotland launches its new lunch menu on May 1st, with more outdoor seating in celebration of spring, its beautiful garden and Scotland’s great outdoors. Book in advance (www.airds-hotel.com / 01631 730236 / [email protected]), or simply drop in.
Served daily from 12 noon to 5.30 pm, the menu features an irresistible selection of light bites with prices to match. Dishes are predominantly seafood-themed thanks to the exceptional fish resources on the hotel’s doorstep. There are freshly filled sandwiches and an interesting choice of vegetarian options, all with side dishes included.
Airds invites guests to make the most of its lovely setting beside Loch Linnhe, having doubled the number of tables set up on the terrace and in its sheltered private garden, which is filled with the scents and colours of spring. The view alone is sure to bring you back for second helpings.
Food doesn’t get more local than Loch Linnhe mussels served in white wine, cream and garlic (£12). Or push the boat out with the seafood platter – a feast of local oysters, mussels, langoustines, smoked salmon, shellfish mayo, garden leaf salad, shallot vinegar and freshly baked bread (£40).
Airds also serves a delicious afternoon tea, for appetites great and small. Taken outside, it’s a treat to be savoured, whether you choose the modest cream tea (£10.95) or the full Champagne afternoon tea (£44.95). Select a brew from the Hoogly Tea Range, which includes Fresh Mint Tea (to nourish and cleanse), energising Green & JasmineTea (to boost body and mind); or a time-honoured favourite such as Earl Grey, Lapsang Souchong or English Breakfast.
All fish and dairy produce on Airds menus is Scottish and locally sourced from sustainable and ethical suppliers. Meat, fruit and vegetables are also locally sourced in season. Chef is always delighted to cater for special dietary requirements (24-hour notice is appreciated).
LUXlife recently made Airds its Best Fine-Dining Restaurant on the West Coast of Scotland – one of many accolades bestowed on this fine establishment.
