808 State are pleased to reveal details of their one-off Manchester Homecoming show this December.

Taking over New Century Hall for their third annual residency in a row, on Friday 11th December 2026, Graham Massey and co. will present ‘TIMELINES’.

A triple-decker electronic spectacle, the show will comprise three sets across the evening as follows:

SET 1 – GRAHAM MASSEY’S TOOLSHED
SET 2 – 808 STATE MODULAR – QUADRASTATE IN FULL
SET 3 – 808 STATE EXPANDED – CLASSICS & CATALOGUE

While promising another irresistible opportunity for fans new-and-old to see 808 State dipping into deep cuts and surefire hits as part of their ‘CLASSICS & CATALOGUE’ headline set; the show will notably see the band return to one of their most coveted albums for ‘QUADRASTATE IN FULL’.

In recent years, 808 State have delivered electrifying live revisitations of two of their earliest and most notable albums: ’90’ (1990) and ‘ex : el’ (1991). Now, in something of an exclusive for their New Century homecoming this Winter, the band will step even further back in time to take on 1989’s gamechanging ‘Quadrastate’.

Building on the foundations laid by their debut ‘Newbuild’, ‘Quadrastate’ was a mini-album of five tracks, which included cuts like “Disco State”, “Fire Cracker”, “106”, “State Ritual”, “State to State”, but most notably, the original version of perhaps the band’s most recognised track: “Pacific State”. Receiving extensive airplay on Radio 1 across the 1989 ‘Summer of Love’, the track would propel ‘Quadrastate’ initially to a number 10 chart position in the Top Dance Album Charts on 9 September, before going the distance to reach the number 1 spot on 4 November of that year. A blueprint of the success and innovation that lay ahead, ‘Quadrastate’ remains a cult fan favourite in the 808 State canon to this day. It was released by Rephlex Records in 2008, with additional bonus tracks.

In what will be the first time ever that the band have revisited and reimagined this seminal work, arrive early and settle in for ‘QUADRASTATE IN FULL’ this December. Speaking about the upcoming performance Graham Massey of 808 State says:

“For our annual 808 State New Century Hall gig this year we will be performing Quadrastate in full. This early mini album is considered a cornerstone album of UK electronica – as indicated by Aphex Twin’s Rephlex label reissuing it on its 20th anniversary. After the acid onslaught of our debut “Newbuild”, Quadrastate introduced new directions for the Atari-generation, including the iconic Pacific State. We will perform this part of the show as a pure electronic gig using some of the original equipment.”

Setting the stage for the evening will be one of Graham’s other musical projects: TOOLSHED. Comprising musicians who have been involved in the world of 808 State over the years, TOOLSHED formed as a musical laboratory/workshop both at 808’s studio and in the Manchester club scene back in the late 90s and beyond. Notably, TOOLSHED played as the house band alongside fellow explorers such as Autechre, Squarepusher, Mathew Herbert, and Kieren Hebden. Hinting at what to expect from their set and the December show, Graham adds:

“I like to see TOOLSHED as a chance to stand next to my wider musical heroes. This might include music by Sun Ra, Morrecone, Gong & Magma, plus some of my own musical history that predates 808 State, hence the title of the show, TIMELINES. Hoping you can join us for this one-off show at a venue that is beginning to feel like home.”

This December’s show at New Century is confirmed to be among 808 State’s only headline gigs this year. The gig also comes in the wake of two previous SOLD OUT shows at the venue in previous successive years, along with their rapturously received ‘ex : el’ nationwide tour of 2025.
