Barratt Homes has recently donated £1,500 to The Square Methodist Church in Dunstable to support its ‘The Living Room’ facilities. The Living Room is a free, warm, welcoming space near to the housebuilder’s Linmere development in Houghton Regis.

The Living Room is a trusted charitable organisation celebrating three years of supporting the community with a welcoming space. Since 2022, The Living Room’s services have made a significant impact on the Dunstable community and welcomes up to 30 visitors each week from various backgrounds offering the opportunity to chat, eat, read, craft and socialise every Friday.

The donation will support the cost of The Living Room’s dedicated volunteer staff and food stock, which both provide comforting support to those in need of the charity’s services.

The £1,500 donation comes from The Barratt Foundation, the housebuilder’s charity partnership, which aims to support local charities and groups wherever Barratt Redrow operates across the UK.

Wendy Armiger, Church Steward and Coordinator at The Living Room, comments: “The Living Room has been a vital service to our community, and this donation from Barratt Homes will support our volunteers by covering the costs of our Friday sessions and kitchen upgrade. Not only can we continue helping local people in need of our support, but we will be able to expand our services to reach more people in need in Dunstable, Houghton Regis and Luton.”
